It’s not always easy to find a doctor that “clicks” for you. You may have specific ideas about the kind of doctor you need, and a name and a picture from our Provider Directory might not be everything you need to make this important choice.
That’s why Highmark hosts Meet Dr. Right events. You can meet, mingle and talk to several doctors in your neighborhood before you choose one and make your first appointment.
If there isn’t a Meet Dr. Right event convenient for you, you can still get personalized help finding a new PCP or specialist. Contact our free My Care Navigator service, which can help you find a new in-network doctor, transfer medical records if needed, and make an appointment.
Sometimes, talking to someone face-to-face is the best way to explain and get what you need, and we understand that. That’s why we have Highmark Direct stores throughout Pennsylvania.
We offer free blood pressure screenings in most of our stores (coming in mid-March to Bartonsville and Williamsport locations), for example, and a variety of health and wellness classes. If you’re already a member, our friendly store associates can also answer your Member Service questions and help you find the right doctors and hospitals in your plan network.
Life happens, and it doesn’t always happen on a weekday before 5 p.m. If you’re a Highmark member with a health question, or need medical advice, our Blues On Call health coaches are there when you need them, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They can help you manage stress, quit smoking, eat healthy and stay physically active. They can also help to answer questions about a health topic or procedure that you’re concerned about, or even prepare you for an upcoming appointment with your doctor.
My Health Assistant helps you create customized wellness programs to lower your stress levels, maintain a healthy weight and even improve your exercise routine. Just look for the Health Assistant link in the Wellness section of your member website. The URL is on the back of your ID card.
